USALLIANCE Financial Awards Four Community Businesses With $10k Small Business Recovery Grant

December 2, 2023

USAlliance Federal Credit Union (dba USALLIANCE Financial) has awarded the Small Business Recovery Grant (SBRG) to four local businesses in partnership with the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York (FHLBNY). The SBRG program, designed to aid small businesses and non-profits, distributed grants to FHLBNY member banks in support of enterprises encountering economic challenges. As a cooperative credit union, USALLIANCE is proud to support the small businesses and non-profit organizations that continue to help drive our communities in the face of inflation, supply chain constraints, rising costs, and other economic obstacles.

USALLIANCE’s Port Chester branch awarded grants to Trainor Dance and Vaccaro’s Wines and Spirits. Caitlin Trainor founded Trainor Dance in 2011 with a focus on robust physical, interdisciplinary work. The company has a supple structure, with an ever-growing repertoire that canvasses concert dance, site-specific work, and audience interactive performances. Trainor’s choreography consistently maintains a commitment to highly musical, visually stimulating work with a social conscience.

Vaccaro’s Wines and Spirits has been a local family-owned establishment in the village of Port Chester for more than 44 years. Joseph Licare, born and raised in Port Chester, worked as an accountant for IBM for 18 years before venturing into the small business arena. Joe likes to interact with the community and over the years has grown to learn about his customers and enjoys making personal recommendations to them.

USALLIANCE’s Bronx branch awarded grants to Making Money Movers and Bronx Fashion Week. Making Money Movers was founded by CEO and Senior Instructor, Haizel McIntyre, LMSW, CFEI. With 10 years of experience in the financial service industry, McIntyre prides herself in providing financial education in a variety of financial concepts that is sensible, relatable, and applicable. “The progress and growth of my clients are always my first priority, and I go above and beyond to make sure they get the guidance they need,” said McIntyre.

Bronx Fashion Week is a bi-annual exhibition of local and international Fashion Designers powered by Bronx Fashion NYC, a 501c(3) non-profit organization. Bronx Fashion Week hosts some of New York City’s leading fashion events by encouraging and empowering diversity and inclusivity in fashion. Since their inception, they have cultivated the success of both established and emerging designers. Bronx Fashion Week will cultivate talent as they help mold future BIPOC Fashion leaders while building a platform fostering creativity, community, and culture.

Each of the four grant recipients was awarded $10,000 to help weather economic challenges and move their businesses forward so they can continue to be a vital part of the fabric of their communities.
