Schuyler Savings Bank Names Kearny NJ-Based Pathways to Independence to Receive SBRG Small Business Grant.

Bank extends a helping hand to local non-profits, reflecting a commitment to community well-being.

Kearny, NJ, December 18, 2023 – Schuyler Savings Bank has announced that the first of its grant recipients under a recent Small Business Recovery Grant Program (SBRG) offered through the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York (FHLBNY) is Kearny-NJ based Pathways to Independence.
Pathways to Independence is a social services organization offering program support services, pre-vocational and vocational opportunities to adults with disabilities. These programs provide individuals with disabilities the skills necessary to reach their optimal level of functioning, enabling them to earn an income and to maximize their independent living skills.

Throughout its operations for the past 45 years, Pathways to Independence has taken pride in placing a value on personal integrity, dignity and respect, believing that all people are created equal and will treat each individual accordingly. Pathways to Independence serves the entire state of New Jersey, with emphasis on Hudson, Bergen and Essex Counties.

Commenting on receiving the award, Pathways to Independence Executive Director, Alvin Cox, said, “We are extremely honored and humbled to receive this most-welcome grant, which will be used to further Pathways to Independence’s mission of helping our local challenged citizens assume a dignified role in the community by learning valuable skills.
